Shotaro Shimomura (1883-1944), Président Directeur Général de Daimaru Inc. profita de ses nombreux voyages d’affaires dans le monde entier pour immortaliser ces moments sur la pellicule. Ses photographies datent principalement des années 1934 et 1935. Destiné à un public familial et amical, le travail de Shotaro Shimomura n’a pas tardé à éclore vis à vis du grand public.
